We wanted to create this page to share the hard work that so many of you are doing in your fields. Kristin works hard to spread her message of fostering resilience and becoming “Trauma Invested,” but at the end of the day, it is up to the communities she interacts with to apply these practices and to implement them into the work that they do. In essences, having them show us how they are taking the information and applying it into their settings. On this page we wanted to highlight those of you who are doing just that! We created this section to share the amazing ways in which people all over the world are supporting the work we do here in trauma-invested ways.

Samantha Saldana- Special education Teacher in Chicago

Samantha’s Bio: My name is Samantha Saldana and I am a Kindergarten- 3rd Grade Special Education Teacher at a Chicago Public School. I graduated from the University of Dayton in May 2024 earning my Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Early Childhood Education. I have always had a passion for working with children since a young age and am passionate about creating a welcoming, positive, and supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive. I am excited to be on this teaching journey and see where it takes me!

Samantha reached out to share a poster she created for her classroom using a quote from Relationship, Responsibility, and Regulation: Trauma-Invested Practices for Fostering Resilient Learners. We are honored that she created this and wanted to share her poster here! Thank you, Samantha!

Monika Jagger- School Counselor at Virginia Peterson Elementary

Monika has created a truly trauma-invested space within her office. With the environment she has created, she allows opportunities for students to express their emotions (positive and negative) in healthy and productive ways. She offers a multitude of ways for students to communicate and cope with big feelings through various different spaces within her office. She even creates a safe environment for students to take time to themselves. The variety of strategies that she implements allows students to connect with what they need in order to return to learning ready states. Thank you Monika for sharing your amazing space with us!
